on a variety of training equipment designed to reinforce
their combinations and kata.

Classes are divided by both age and ability, and are taught using positive reinforcement.  Our
goal is to create a fun learning environment that will help children gain
confidence, and build self
esteem
, while developing both their physical and mental abilities.
Fitness
Students will use a series of cardiovascular exercises designed to
elevate the heart rate safely.  They will also learn core strengthening
movements designed to develop and balance the muscles of the
abdomen, and back.  Specially designed push-ups will allow them
to strengthen the upper body correctly, while focusing on proper
form.

Flexibility
Students will learn a comprehensive, full body stretching curriculum
designed to lengthen muscles, loosen the joints, and strengthen the
skeleton’s support system.
Martial Arts Basics
Students will learn a series of strikes, blocks, kicks, and stances,
which will help to improve balance, coordination and focus.
Mindfulness Training
Students will learn how to focus on a specific task, such as a slow
leg extension.  The emphasis is placed on paying attention to the
task at hand without becoming distracted.  Students will also learn
proper breathing techniques, and will gain an understanding of the
connection between their mind and body.

Character Drills
These are special tasks that are used to improve student’s
understanding of the three character traits: self control, respect for
others, and self discipline.
Self Defense Combinations
Students learn these techniques to advance through the colored
belt ranks.  They will interact with other students in a controlled
fashion, with an emphasis on demonstrating respect towards
their partner.  They are trained to practice punching and kicking
without touching their partner.  There is no contact allowed at any
time below the rank of black belt.
Kata
Students will learn a choreographed sequence of movements which
they must demonstrate to advance though the colored belt ranks.  
Kata is an excellent tool for developing timing and balance, as well
as strength and coordination.
