| Hi, this is Master Ken Caputo, Director of Villari’s of North Windham. I have been teaching the martial arts professionally in the Windham and Mansfield communities for over fifteen years. During that time, I have been invited into many of the local schools to present a class, or provide a demonstration for the students. This year, I have recommitted to the importance of being an active contributor to the community in which I both live and work. I consider my martial arts school a resource that offers multiple opportunities for personal growth and development, and I would like to share my services beyond the four walls of my Dojo. I know that it only takes one positive interaction to potentially change the course of one’s life for the better, and over the years, I have had many individuals express the importance of constructive role models willing to share their experiences in becoming successful members of the community. I would be happy to provide you with an interactive class which will focus on teaching children some basic martial arts movements coupled with an explanation of the importance of developing strong character. My emphasis is on creating an understanding that the martial arts is about respect and self control, not fighting. My experience has been that once children understand how ‘real’ martial artists behave, there is a reduction in negative behavior. The format is upbeat with fun games and drills designed to keep their attention and reinforce the lesson. I hope that you will consider contacting me to further explore the possibilities of how I may contribute to your center. If I have worked with you previously, let’s renew our relationship. I have never charged for these services, and any necessary materials will also be donated at no cost to your center. |
