Our programs are an excellent way for students to build confidence and develop the strength to withstand
the pressures of their day to day lives. We emphasize the importance for each student to realize their
journey, and although many aspects of training are group oriented, each studio member will be treated as
an individual. Below are listed some of the leadership programs that become available after the first one or
two years of training.
Leadership Training
This program is designed for students who would like to learn how to be a leader in class, and in their day
to day lives outside of the Dojo. They will meet with the Director once per month to learn teaching skills and
character development.
STORM
The Student Team of Role Models is a program designed for twelve to twenty year olds who would like to
develop the skills and abilities necessary to become an assistant instructor. They learn how to teach and
are also trained to set a high standard of excellence for others to follow. Discipline, a positive mental
attitude, and a willingness to help others are the backbone of this program. Serious STORM team
members may also become eligible for instructor certification, and may receive employment opportunities.
Instructor Internship
This is a two day, sixteen hour course made available to older teens and adults. This course is packed with
life enhancing skills passed down through the martial arts tradition, coupled with modern day principles for
personal development. Learn what it means to be a career martial arts instructor or just use these
teachings to further enrich your life. Topics include effective communication skills, motivating yourself and
others, leadership skills, and teaching techniques.
Demonstration Teams
Highly motivated martial artists may be selected to represent our school at the various events we host
throughout the year. They will receive additional training which will help them develop the more acrobatic
skills necessary to put on a good show for the public, as well as team building skills necessary for learning
the complex choreography.

For those students who wish to develop leadership qualities from the moment
they step through the door, follow the link to our Off the Mat program, which is
designed for all students regardless of their age or how long they have trained.
The martial arts are more than just a physical activity. Our classes also
incorporate three important character traits we term the "rules of the
school"; self control, respect for others, and self discipline. The three
rules are referred to regularly in class, and are supplemented by our
Colors of Character program. This program guides students through a series of
tasks which helps them identify the prevalence of these rules in their daily lives,
especially at home and at school. Parents are given printed material which will
help generate discussion about the importance of the three rules as well as
serving as a tool to change or modify inappropriate behaviors. Students are
rewarded with colored bars for their uniform upon completion of each task.
Additional topics covered during class include: confidence building skills
and drills, developing personal power and responsibility, personal safety, stress
management techniques, and more.
